V I L N E S is the artist name of the Norwegian indie pop artist Eivind Vilnes. His first single ‘Demons’ was released in October 2018, and labeled “ 2 minutes 40 seconds of indie pop genius”. One year later Vilnes was awarded Best Male Artist by Radio Wigwam. The single Play With Me was presented on the New Music Friday Norway by the Spotify editorial team, and selected as the single of the week by NPS. ‘Story Unsaid’ was playlisted by NRK P1 for 12 weeks during the summer of 2019.

In his early twenties Vilnes enjoyed some recognition with earlier bands. One morning he got a phone call from a major Norwegian festival telling him that they just had to play at the festival. After the conversation Vilnes enjoyed his morning coffee and life in general. But he could not escape the idea of “having to play”. Do I have to do this and do that? Anyway, he keeps his guitar within reach, and before he even knew it a new song was popping into his mind. Eager to know if other could like it, he brought his guitar and entered the streets of Bergen to present his new song to anyone passing by who might enjoy a new song. They did, and Vilnes is still writing new songs all the time in his free spirited way, but nowadays the phone calls are answered by his manager!

Vilnes was born and raised in the Fjords of Norway in the small village of Atløy.

Lo-fi (from low fidelity) is music in which elements usually regarded as imperfections are audible, sometimes as a deliberate choice. The quality of music production has evolved throughout the decades, meaning earlier examples of lo-fi may not have been originally recognized as such. Lo-fi began to be recognized as a style in its own right in the 1990s, when it became alternately referred to as DIY music.

Introducing Daniel Soldano

Daniel Soldano was born in Genoa, Italy, in 2001.

He started singing just for fun at 15, then with time and passion, it became more serious, winning his first competition of his region:"Fantastico Festival".

He has two singles on all digital stores, his first "Questions for You" with the official video on his YouTube channel, and "Those Things" his most recent release. 

Both of them were written and produced by Daniel, except for the mixing and mastering of his first song. He already has many of his own songs in his repertoire and he's ready to release them in due course.

"This is a story of sadness, it is based on a real situation, when I met a Russian girl in Prague, we were laughing & drinking and she looked happy, but after several weeks she started to send  crazy messages, so finally, she was diagnosed with schizophrenia and then she was sent to Russia, unfortunately, she was alone and nobody controlled her health & mental condition. 

She was placed in the cheapest free hospital with this diagnosis. I tried to help her, in the beginning I just tried to support her with Facebook communications & sending her  films and music, then I tried to find a proper doctor for her. But it was too late - she was already poisoned with all this “killing mind and body” medicines. Afterwards, she stopped communicating. I lost connection."

Alex Kelman's musical output is a mixture of beautifully noisy guitars, catchy dance beats and arresting synths, layered with captivating vocals. Since 2015 Alex Kelman has released 2 full albums, played over 200 show at clubs and festivals in Europe, Russia and China and South America.

This is Tracy Colletto

Philly-based Tracy Colletto has garnered comparisons to Carole King, Jonatha Brooke and Joni Mitchell for her songwriting and vocal style. Several songs from her second album, Chocolate Happy Cake have been added to playlists for many terrestrial and online radio stations, including WXPN's Sleepy Hollow and WSTW. Her music is inspired by personal perseverance and far-away places. In addition to music, Tracy has a passion for the natural world, visual arts and traveling. 

Her single, "The Ride," is a nominee for Best Alt. Country Song at the 15th Annual Independent Music Awards (2016). She has also earned an Honorable Mention in the John Lennon International Songwriting Competition for her song "The Promise" (2001), won runner-up in the Triad Music Festival Songwriting Standoff (2017), was a nominee for "Best Indie Female Artist" by Radio-Wigwam in the UK (2017) and earned a bronze medal for lyrics/album from Global Music Awards for Chocolate Happy Cake (2019). She has also been picked by Judy Stakee to participate in her "It All Starts with a Song" retreats in 2017.

Three new singles released in 2019: "Rosa," "Those Secrets" and "Pretty Lights," which is part of the holiday project by P.E.A.C.E. (Philadelphia Entertaining Artists Community Endeavor) a fundraiser for Philadelphia charities.

Chocolate Happy Cake is produced by Grammy Award-winning producer and engineer Glenn Barratt (Melody Gardot, Jill Scott, Elton John, Diana Ross). Glenn assembled the lineup of musicians, including Michael G Ronstadt (of Ronstadt Generations), well-known Philly bass player Chico Huff, and Erik Johnson and Kevin Hansen, both formerly of the charting modern rock band, Huffamoose (“Wait”). The entire cast performed with sensitive intuition, respecting Tracy’s vision for the album, and providing delicate and emotionally dynamic musical support.

Such a gentle song about the human heart. It's tragedys and triumphs. She tries very hard to make it work but has regrets. A thousand times she brought grief. A thousand times she brought laughter.

This is Jimena Arroyo

Jimena Arroyo is a session singer-songwriter, topliner, published writer, ESL teacher and English-Spanish sworn translator from Buenos Aires, Argentina.

From an early age, she has shown a talent for inventing her own songs and stories, so much so that she used to make up her own nursery rhymes at kindergarten and, at the age of 8, she wrote her first song in English, her second language.

At the age of 19, she won a car in a singing competition on the TV show "1,2,3 OUT!". From that moment, she started performing live and worked as a touring singer for over ten years in bars, theaters, restaurants, resorts and some local TV shows in her country while she studied translation at the National University of La Plata.

After graduation, she kept pursuing her passion: writing. She has published seven children’s books so far. But just like we all go back to our first love, it was writing music that really drove her, so she started composing songs with very talented musicians all over the world she met through different social networking sites.

Over the past few years, she has collaborated with numerous talented musicians, composers and producers from all over the world and her music is being played on radio stations worldwide. Along with her solo career as a songwriter, she is the lead singer of the duo Excorde, with Jonnie Cook from the USA.

​The genre she likes the most is melodic rock (soft, classic, progressive, metal, glam, AOR & alternative), but she also enjoys writing songs of other genres, such as pop, EDM, disco, reggae, ballads, reggaeton, among others.

​Her songwriting talents have not gone unnoticed and since her comeback in 2017, she has been nominated for several international awards, such as the 2018 Nashville Universe Awards, the 2018 Josie Music Awards and the 2019 ISSA (International Singer-Songwriters Association) Awards.

She released her first EP "Penelope" in December 2017, co-writen with the multi-instrumentalist Torbjørn Vagle, from Norway. And since then, she's been releasing singles both with Excorde and other producers, such as the fabulous Phil Trickey. She's currenty working on sync placements and writing for other artists as well as herself.

This song majors on the sorrows of the human heart but the final realisation that all the pain and sorrow was based on false beliefs and lies. The long hard road to truth was worth it. To know she was valued and  loved and those who believed she was trash were not worth wasting time on.

I have listened to a number of her songs and I cannot escape the emotional wisdom expressed in her songs.   

Introducing Qwiet Type

Qwiet Type is a solo artist, songwriter and producer of his own music. While his genre has been tough to nail down with his music as a whole, his songs display a fusion of indie, alternative, pop, synth pop, experimental, electronica, new wave and even a touch of hip hop.

Solo artist and producer Matt Powell AKA Qwiet Type has just released his most impressive single to date with Chains. We received this tune a few months ago and have been waiting patiently until it’s release to share it around. This one is as catchy as it gets. Brass central.

Chains is a pop number with some of the funkiest brass riffs I’ve heard in ages. It is so uplifting and vibrant from the get go. As soon as the first blast of brass came in, I was sold. Throw in a catchy lyrical hook to accompany and we have a beaut of a tune. Qwiet Type has tickled my fancy with this one.

It’s not often we find absolute hidden gems like this from our submissions. When we do it is the best feeling ever. I think I listened to this one about four times in a row after hearing it first. Finding new breakthrough artists like this reinforces what we are trying to do here at The Sound Sniffer. It is really important that blogs are still around to give these talented people the ears they deserve starting out. If I was a radio DJ, this track would be getting a spin everyday!

Qwiet Type is a one-man project that, directly from his room, writes, composes, plays and produces his magnificent music. A magical fusion of styles that, as we can feel when playing " Shakedown ", touches us deeply, and truly sounds like something new.To me, this song touched me for exactly that reason: for having a new, engaging and magical sound, for having a voice that completes all this symbiosis of elements, and for being, besides striking, very well made. Qwiet Type was a beautiful surprise in a world where it is increasingly difficult to do things that have not yet been done, and I'm waiting for more.

When I heard the funky bass line and sidesick together with the clap I was instantly hooked and when the brass stabs come in together with the vocals  WOW !! It's an amazing song definately a recipe for a winner. Nice use of silence and vocals for effect
