Daniel Onorato presents Pin Cushion

Pin Cushion is a band from Long Island that makes music. Whenever they get together, they plug their instruments in and boy howdy does music come out. They mainly draw influence from other musicians and a variety of sounds. In 2019, a notable publication has put them among the likes of other bands in existence during 2019. They play notes, and sing notes, and bang drums, sometimes all at once. When listening to Pin Cushion, one is transported to other times when music was being played. Just give them a listen and you’ll say, “Oh man, this is music.” Their most recent EP Brain Giblets is a prime example of three guys playing four songs.

Editors Notes:

Ronan has developed a style that is very much his own, shedding fresh light on ancient core themes of the human condition and re-exploring timeless narratives from a contemporary perspective. As a former student of famed Mexican guitar duo Rodrigo y Gabriella, he has acquired a reputation as a guitarist of renown and uses his skills to enhance and compliment his songs using subtle lines and clever licks.

This highly original artist always produces unique, thoughtful music infused with melody and a style that is entirely his own. In a live setting he always provides an eclectic and energetic show and takes time to explain the underlying meaning of his unique songs to involve his audience in the performance. "Ronan’s last single ‘The Silver Torc’ was chosen by Irish hero MMA fighter Richard Kiely as his signature walkout music. Ronan played the song LIVE, in front of 9,000 people when Richard fought at the 3Arena, Dublin on 27th September 2019, and to a global TV audience. RONAN FURLONG - Plays Live at Richard Keily's MMA fight
Richard quotes: ’I am a huge fan of Ronan Furlong's music and I am honoured that he allowed me to use his song for my walkout music. I needed a song that would match the fierce energy and fervour that the Irish crowd bring. When I heard The Silver Torc, I instantly knew I had found that song. After the opening chords hit, the song blew the roof off the 3Arena!

At the end of 2019, I had more time on my hands to actually dig down deep into some great songs! I came across “Bottoms Up Sundown” on a demo my producer Phil O’Donnell (George Strait, Blake Shelton) and Brandon Kinney (Jason Aldean, Cole Swindell) had written, which had the vibe I was looking for. It screamed “small-town country anthem” and I know many of my fans can relate to the lyrics. We started testing the song at shows in early 2020 and my fans have begged us for this one ever since. I am so excited for y’all to hear our new version,” shares Shelburne.

Not one to sit for too long, Shelburne has taken every opportunity to deliver motivation through his music to fans through various levels of the pandemic including a handful of interactive Facebook live performances and the creation of a Facebook Fanclub. I went with [the director's] ideas, and it was just 'go-with-the-flow.' I didn't question it, and I just let loose and had fun, which was so awesome. I want to say a huge THANK YOU to Heartland for premiering “Let Me Go.”

Before being a country-rock star, Ashley encircled her music passion singing in her room, music lessons, and the high school choir. Diagnosed with Linear Scleroderma and Celiac Disease, Ashley learned to gain courage and love herself when it came to performing—musically or with cheerleading. Used to a crazy lifestyle and giant family full of support her passion for music grew, and she declined an invitation to the University of Arizona to attend the local university and go full force into her music career—recording and performing wherever and whenever she could.

By persevering through some of her hardest moments, Ashley decided that her logo would be an Arrow, signifying to always push ahead and to never give up, even if it seems so easy to do.

After almost 5 years of living in Nashville and working so hard to create music that is worthy to be placed beside the top runners of this town, I’m absolutely humbled and so excited,” shares Johnson.

About Paige King Johnson:
Born in a quiet North Carolina town just 22 miles south of Raleigh, as a young 9-year-old girl, Paige King Johnson spent her summers under the crepe myrtles imitating the styles of Loretta, Patsy, Waylon, and Merle. Having a grandpa as her biggest fan also meant receiving the gift of her first guitar – a baby Taylor - and enrolling in lessons. After her grandpa passed, the bright-eyed dreamer carried on his memory by taking her newfound discovery to local fairs, festivals, and any other stage she was allowed to stand on. As she grew older, Johnson added “opening act” to her resume, supporting chart-topping artists like Scotty McCreery, Neal McCoy, Luke Pell, and James Otto. And with high school graduation came the realization that this was more than a hobby. The Angier native traded in horse pastures and back roads for the bright lights of Music City in 2015. Upon starting school at Belmont University for Music Business, Johnson honed in on the magic that had heavily influenced her as a child: the art of storytelling through songwriting.

The famous Bluebird Café was just one of many writers’ circuits around Nashville that provided a safe space for Johnson to meet other writers, try out new tunes, and get feedback. In return, Johnson began captivating audiences with her down-home stage presence, cut straight to the bone stories and raw country voice, reminiscent of the classic country era. In the last four years, Johnson has traveled back and forth between Nashville and the Carolinas, playing shows like the North Carolina State Fair and running her dinner theater, Country on the Outskirts of Town, that she founded in high school. Johnson’s quarterly show provides an atmosphere for locals to enjoy Southern cooking, fellowship with friends, and the sounds of classic and current country music with some gospel thrown in. A three-time Carolina Music Awards Nominee for Best Country Female Artist, Johnson’s devoted homegrown fan base continues to expand farther than just her backyard.

This song is perfect for release in this time we are all experiencing and right before the holidays. What a gift Tim Atwood has given us!” – Laura Woods, Road Dog Media Group

“To say I am excited about this new album is an understatement. I believe ‘Who I Am’ is the best project I've ever delivered. My fans know you can't put me in a box and simply slap a label on my music. I love to play a country shuffle, and I love to make that piano rock. I love songs that paint a picture as well as songs that bring a tear because life isn't always happy. I love songs that make you laugh, and I especially love songs that praise my Lord and Savior. My new album connects all of the pieces of my musical puzzle and gives you a true picture of ‘Who I Am,’ shares Atwood. “This album is me.”

With over 8,500 appearances on the Grand Ole Opry stage, Atwood has performed alongside nearly four decades of country music hitmakers including George Jones, Dolly Parton, The Oak Ridge Boys, Willie Nelson, Garth Brooks, Vince Gill, and Taylor Swift. With this fourth solo studio offering, it is apparent once again that Atwood learned from the best and has emerged as a premier stylist himself with a mantle full of awards, honors, and hall of fame inductions to prove it, including his upcoming March 13, 2021 induction into the North American Country Music Hall of Fame.

“I spent a year producing ‘Who I Am,’ writing and selecting songs that are meaningful to me,” explains Atwood. “It is personal. Over thirty years ago, I played every instrument on the demo for Confederate Railroad’s "Somewhere Stoned Playin' Pinball." That song just stuck with me all these years later. "You First" chronicles a big piece of my life story--a story for anyone who has ever lost a loved one. And “Sending Me Angels” is a powerful song of redemption for me. It is the song I sang to my wife on our wedding day--a song I feel is especially important to us in today’s time: When all feels lost, look heavenward. I know from experience, the angels are there. It can not go unsaid that I want to thank Gus Arrendale and Springer Mountain Farms. Their help and support allowed me to record the music I love, with the musicians I love, for the people I love. My heart is full.”

Here's what others are saying about Tim Atwood's new single, "Sending Me Angels":

When this song started, I had to sit up in my chair. I don’t know what I was expecting, but the urgency in Tim’s voice commanded all of my attention. I have known Tim for decades, and I have always admired his keyboard work. However, this vocal work by Tim announces to the world, “Hear me; I have something to tell you!!! Tim has surrounded his great vocal work with awesome musicians and vocal background singers. The song is powerful, and I believe that Tim has just nailed it.” - Duane Allen, The Oak Ridge Boys

“This is a great and much-needed song by friend and brother, Tim Atwood. Tim is a Nashville treasure and this song reflects that fact.” - Joe Bonsall, The Oak Ridge Boys

“Fantastic!!!! This is a great song and Tim Atwood delivers it! Great arrangement, great production, and great performance! I am proud to be a part of it.” - Charlie McCoy

“Thank you Tim Atwood for shining your heartfelt, soulful light on one of my all-time favorite songs, “Sending Me Angels!” I Love it!” - Deborah Allen

"Sending Me Angels" is yet another example of Tim Atwood’s incredible talent. A perfect song for these unprecedented times, that lifts us up and gives us hope. Something we all need, especially now. Tim Atwood, thank you for the beautiful reminder.” - Dallas Wayne, Willie’s Roadhouse SiriusXM

“Music brings people together, and the concept of this album was to do exactly that by building a bridge across the generation gap,” Mary Sarah explains. “These incredible artists have paved the path for artists like myself. People who are my age and younger might recognize some of the songs but don’t really know the person or the journey behind them. I wanted to show younger generations how these icons opened doors for so many artists.”

Mary Sarah is uniquely positioned to do this, with help from a dedicated fan base amassed during her performances as a contestant on 'The Voice' and her performances with the wildly popular Kidz Bop music series. Recorded when she was just 15 years old, the album literally and figuratively reflects the multi-generational appeal of the songs.

“It’s crazy now to look back and think that I made the record when I was 15 years old, in the studio with Dolly and everyone,” she reflects. “At that time, in all honesty, I don’t think I understood the magnitude of what was happening but now being 25 years old and looking back, I marvel at how we did this and am humbled by how was I the lucky one to be the artist to help build the bridge."

“When I write not only do I want to have fun, but I want to use personal life experiences and music to create a connection between myself and listeners. Lots of people have been cheated on and “Hard At Quittin’” speaks about my experience and the internal struggle of staying in a toxic relationship or just calling it quits,” shares Moore.

The genuine nature of Moore sets this single into motion as listeners can feel an authentic desire to share a personal story within each line of the song. Fans instantly feel connected to the humbling effect that Moore's lyrics present. “Hard At Quittin’” appeals to those who can relate to the toxic drama that can cloud relationships when the mind runs rampant. When feeling stuck and confused, the single serves as a reminder that one shouldn’t waste romance on someone who doesn’t appreciate them. Moore presents distinctive experiences through music in hopes that listeners will take refuge and uncover individual strength within each song. Fans will not want to miss this one of a kind release.

Born and raised in the small town of Lowell, Michigan, Jordan Moore’s earliest memories are immersed in music. Lowell, a small town, sporting a total of only two stoplights, was known as “the farm town” to surrounding areas. “Growing up in the country gives a person a lot to be inspired about,” says Moore. Jordan’s music career took him all over the world, traveling around the United States and all the way to Thailand and Cambodia. He realized he was just as much inspired by the people in the world as the world itself.

In his senior year of college, Jordan started the rock band, Sargent Avenue, with his brother in law and a couple of friends. After gaining traction with local Michigan radio station, WGRD 97.9, as well as WOOD TV 8, they were soon featured at MTV’s EXIT concert in Thailand, playing to an audience of over 15,000 people, in order to raise awareness for Traffic Jam, an organization whose mission is to stop human trafficking.

The youngest of five children, Jordan has always known the world is bigger than him.

“I grew up in a very musical family, helping with praise and worship in church as long as I can remember,” says Moore. His father gifted him with his knowledge and love of music early on, teaching all his siblings and him to play instruments as early as they could hold one. Jordan took to the guitar and microphone instantly. Jordan’s father had to give up his dream of playing music as a career in order to make a living for his family. His father’s sacrifice is what inspires him to never give up on his own dreams.

He now lives just outside of Nashville with his wife and their three kids. Jordan’s solo career has taken him back to his original roots of down-home country.

Don McLean Releases New Album 'Still Playin' Favorites'

A follow-up to his 1973 covers album 'Playin' Favorites', this new collection digs deep into the roots of American music and adds a rock and roll edge to country, folk, gospel, bluegrass, blues, jazz, and soul gems

FAIRFAX, Va. - Don McLean pays homage to American music with his new covers album, Still Playin’ Favorites, released today through Time Life. Spanning more than 100 years of songwriting, McLean assembled a treasury of music from country, folk, gospel, bluegrass, blues, jazz and soul for the album, performing them with a rock and roll twist. Don discusses several of the tracks in a new video series on his YouTube channel, including “Backwater Blues,” originally recorded by Bessie Smith in 1927.

“I just love writing songs and I love hearing songs by good writers that make sense and have lyrics that say something and that are pretty simple,” Don explains about the concept behind the album. “My version is just a little bit more rock and roll, a little harder-edged, with drums and double guitars,” he goes on to say about the classic blues and jazz song, “Backwater Blues.” When it came to recording “Got The Bull By The Horns,” originally performed by Johnny Horton, “I changed a few of the words, I hope he won’t mind,” McLean admits good-naturedly. The collection also features songs made famous by Johnny Cash, Bob Dylan, Clyde Moody, Mel Tillis, Ray Charles, Mahalia Jackson, Elvis Presley, and more.

Still Playin’ Favorites is modeled after his first album of cover songs, Playin’ Favorites, a remarkable artistic statement for a young songwriter to release on the heels of his masterworks “American Pie” and “Vincent.” The new album extends his original tribute to the great songwriters who have helped shape American music and, in turn, McLean’s work.

A New York native, Don McLean is one of the most revered and respected songwriters in American history. Single Brings Optimism to Fans During Uncertain Times

“‘Everybody Dies’ certainly hit home with me. It reminds us to add life to our living - to create and cherish special moments daily, with those we love, wherever we are. Shane kindly reminds you to live without regret so when the distant shore is near, it is well with your soul. As always, he sets the mood and speaks to the heart through his music, making you laugh or cry... and think. His traditional country music approach remains a favorite of mine - thanks for keeping it alive and well, Shane! Great job on this one.”
- Randy Travis

"With recently losing a close family friend, Shane Owens connects with my heart personally. In the song, Shane mentioned that "life is just a moment" and that isn't anything but the truth. Sometimes you can lose someone so unexpected, however, at the end of the day, everybody dies at some point. With the traditional country sound that Shane brings to the table, this song is a highly relatable song for anyone going through losing a member or close friend."
- Trevor Justin, Country Sway

"When we picked, “Everybody Dies But Not Everybody Lives” for the album, it really spoke to me. I never dreamed how much it would hit home in 2020. This has been a tough time for everyone and the events of the year have made me sit back and reflect on things,” shares Shane.

The genuine nature of Owens sets this single in motion as listers can feel his authentic desire to inspire within each line of the song. Sometimes, an artist deals a sweet hand and the perfect song comes along that ties humanity together to bring about change. “One thing is for sure,” says Owens, “Life can change in a split second. Every day is a gift and sometimes we need to take a minute and remember to make the most of what we can, take the time to enjoy our family and friends, do what we love to do, and truly LIVE. I hope this song helps us all to do just that.”

About Shane Owens:
Named by Rolling Stone Country as one of the “10 New Country Artists You Need To Know,” and awarded 2018 Music Row Independent Artist of the Year, Shane Owens has been building a strong following for more than a decade. His powerful vocal range combined with the emotional lyrical content of his songs has made him a favorite of fans, critics, and fellow artists alike. After starting his career opening shows for dozens of major stars, the baritone performer attracted the attention of Nashville music executives, and he soon landed a record deal. However, with all the changes in the music industry at the time, his album was shelved and never released. Just like the ‘Never Give Up’ mantra of his lyrics, Owens picked himself up and moved on, thanks to famed producer James Stroud (Tim McGraw, Aaron Lewis, Clint Black), country music legend Randy Travis, who co-executive produced his first album, Where I’m Comin’ From, and Amerimonte Records. Never one to sit still for long, Owens followed up with his most recent release It’s A Southern Thing, and is currently impacting at radio with his latest single “Everybody Dies But Not Everybody Lives” from his latest album, Thankful For Country Music.
